100891: Constructing Realities

About the Course:

This course provides greater depth of undersanding of Winnicott and Bion’s constructs of potential space, myth and uncertainty to the clinical process. Using numerous case examples, this author demonstrates her thinking and interventions with patients who have creative potential but for whom past trauma inhibits their capacities to be creative. The author brings the reader into the consultation room and generously provides information about her countertransference responses and the way that she uses them to facilitate a process of transformation.

About the Author:

The author is a psychologist and psychoanalyst. A training and supervising analyst with the Michigan Psychoanalytic Council, she is also an Adjunct Professor of Clinical Psychology at Michigan State. She has written several other works including Building Blocks of Creativity (2002) and Learning From Experience: A Clinician’s Guide (2004).
